Early Years key workers with SEN experience required for a primary school in Wandsworth to start in September 2020!

If you are looking for a new and rewarding challenge where you can make a long-term difference for children with autism, we have a great opportunity for you! 

We are looking to appoint full-time Early Years key workers for a primary school autism provision in Tooting, Wandsworth. The school are eager to appoint special needs particularly autism experienced early years key workers for support roles in their Key Stage 1 department.

With children diagnosed with autism across the spectrum those with early years and key working backgrounds have transferable skills beneficial to the children's support.

Successful early years key workers will support autistic pupils 1:1 and in small groups back into learning in class. Children will have interactive and tailored learning plans which may also involve therapies such as speech and occupational.

Having a positive approach and confidence supporting children with their academic learning and managing challenging behaviours is vital. Additional experience with personal care (toilet training/support) is highly beneficial.

You will be joining a supportive and welcoming team helping children with autism be the best version of themselves!

This early years position in Wandsworth is during school term time with opportunities to apply for permanent opportunities.

The ideal applicant will be:

  • Experience as a Early Years key worker or assistant for children with special needs particularly autism
  • Confident supporting with academic learning and development though therapies (speech and occupational therapy)
  • Experience with personal care (toileting training/support) is highly beneficial
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Able to be creative and innovative in the classroom with your support
  • Able to work full-time in Tooting, Wandsworth
