Behaviour Mentor.

Can you make a positive impact on primary learners who need support to manage their behaviour?

A federation of SEMH schools across Manchester are seeking to recruit, experienced primary Mentor's for immediate starts on a long-term basis. There are 3 centres who provide key stage 1 and 2 education to children who are no longer attending mainstream education and need a more personalised program. Students display challenging behaviours with some having duel diagnosis of ASD, ADHD, ODD and mental health conditions. The goal for some students will be to be integrated into mainstream education with others staying until they move onto secondary education. Each child is different and needs nurturing to reach their potential.

• Supporting 1:1

• Managing challenging and aggressive behaviour

• Implementing de-escalation techniques

• Working with the student to engage in lesson

• Giving lots of positive praise and encouragement

• Maintain high expectations for learning

• Be a strong positive role model

• Easy transport links with a short walk to sites

• £70 - £90 per day + £675 Health Care Package

 Person specification – Mentor

• Previous experience as a Mentor

• Experience working in secondary but want to transit to primary considered

• Candidates from YOS, YOT, LAC or similar setting should also apply

• Team Teach or similar training is desired.

• Calm approach while setting clear boundaries and expectations.

• Extra curriculum activities e.g Football, Music, Computer


• Part of a strong leadership team

• Focus on working as part of an effective team

• Opportunity to partake in CPD

• Prospect of career growth within the service.
