The ideal candidate will have an understanding or experience of young people or learners, who can display challenging and difficult behaviours. This specialist setting aims to provide an environment where young people can feel at ease and work through the obstacles that have got in the way of their mainstream education. You will be supporting young people in a range of subjects and excursions and the job is due to start in January 2021.

This position will be 5 days a week, working 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday.

Operating across 3 specialist sites, the school caters for pupils aged 3-19 with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), ASC (Autistic Spectrum Conditions) and other learning difficulties and associated medical needs. They require a Learning Support Assistant, ideally with previous experience providing support for young people with additional needs, and who is committed to increasing life chances for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The successful applicant will join an established team of class and senior teachers, Learning Support Assistants, and an on-site therapy team consisting of physiotherapists, health care staff, and an employability coach.
Vision for Education are seeking to appoint an outstanding ASC Teaching Assistant to work with pupils with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties in a school in Stockport. The role The desired ASC Teaching Assistant should have a positive outlook, excellent communication skills and be passionate about supporting children with barriers to learning. We are looking for someone who can think creatively to adapt to each pupil's needs and aspirations. Successful experience of working with pupils with Autism is preferred.
